  Welding Engineer II

  Responsibilities: - Provide technical expertise and technical consulting in welding, weld code interpretation, weld procedure development, and weld fabrication methods - Provide technical expertise and technical consulting in quality assurance, quality control, measurements, reports, and industry requirements specifically focused on the aspects of welding, weld procedure development/review, and NDE of welds. This includes participating in preproduction and engineering meetings developing, reviewing, and approving the client’s weld and NDE procedures - Maintain weld procedures, continuity logs, and weld reject rates for welders and each division. - Provide expertise in finding solutions to and recommending better methods or processes to remedy reject or productivity issues. Requirements: - Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Welding Engineering or Materials Engineering - Experience in welding and Quality Assurance, preferably in the O&G; industry - Working knowledge of weld methods, welding processes, weld related NDE processes (magnetic particle and liquid penetrant testing, ultrasonic testing (straight beam, shear wave, and phased array), radiography, visual and dimensional examination), and industry inspection standards and specifications such as ASNT - Working knowledge of ASME Sect. IX, Sect. VIII, Sect. V, AWS D1.1 and API 1104 and equipment-related industry standards and specifications, such as NACE MR0175 - Working knowledge of mechanical testing techniques (tensile, hardness, Charpy, CTOD, etc.) - Knowledge of materials and related metallurgy, heat treat, and stress relief processes - Possess the ability to analyze inspection data trends and make recommendations for inspection level and frequency changes - Work in alliances with various suppliers to improve quality and reduce costs - Familiarity with ISO quality system audit techniques - Strong verbal and written communications skills (job requires frequent communication with engineers, purchasing, and service provider management) - Ability and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% Qualified candidates, please email resumes to silvap@bayltd.com or apply in person at Bay Personnel, 401 Corn Products Rd., Corpus Christi, Tx. 78409.
