  Mechanical Estimator

  Bay Ltd. is seeking an Industrial/Petrochemical Mechanical and Offshore/Modular Estimators to join our Estimating and Support Services Group at our Corpus Christi and Houston offices. Critical Responsibilities: • Responsible for creating cost estimates consisting of labor, equipment, materials, sub-contractors, and other construction related activities in bidding on or determining price of projects. • Utilizes plans, isometrics, P&ID’s, specifications, and knowledge of construction industry to analyze project needs and compile detailed cost estimates. • Estimates will include: pipe and fitting take-off, counting of field and shop welds, bolt ups, valves, pipe supports, etc. • Ability to do take-off’s of structural steel from detail steel drawings. • • Develops the scope of work for sub-contractors • Responsible for identifying possible cost saving opportunities and/or risk items that will occur on various projects • Responsible for the take-off and pricing of materials to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, options, etc. • Documents work by maintaining files for each job. • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required. Other Responsibilities: • Work closely with the Lead Estimators in developing pipe and steel scope, costs and risks. • Create/modify Labor and Material take-off using proprietary programs to speed up work process. • Monitor changes in scope during projects and support the Project Engineer’s forecasting efforts. • Promote a team environment that facilitates creativity, innovation, continuous improvement and value engineering. Create a safe and positive work environment; recognize all team members’ contributions and involvement in critical decisions. Expected Experience: Qualified candidates will have the following qualifications: • College Degree and 3 + years’ experience or minimum 5+ years of experience. • Required experience is in Refinery, Chemical Plant and Modular Fabrication for Upstream and Downstream. • Can do attitude and willingness to work in team environment. • Stable employment background w/ good references. • Proficient with project reporting and document control. • Proficient with Windows and MS Excel, Word and Access If you meet the above requirements, please email resume to silvap@bayltd.com or apply in person at Bay Personnel, 401 Corn Products Rd., Corpus Christi, Tx. 78409.
