  Human Resources Generalist

  JOB SUMMARY: Work with the Director of Human Resources in maintaining current human resource programs as well as developing and recommending new Human Resource programs in the areas of wellness, employee benefits, employee recruiting, employee relations, training programs, new employee processing/orientation, employee communications and regulatory compliance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Assist the Director of Human Resources in the development, design and implementation of Company’s annual wellness incentive program and benefits open enrollment program. • Assist in the day-to-day administration of benefits programs, including enrolling and terminating employees in both payroll and benefit providers’ systems, performing quarterly audits of core benefits’ payroll deductions to benefit provider records, and assisting employees with inquiries. • Responsible for updating the intranet website, Bay Connection and wellness website on a daily basis to keep Company employees informed of current events in the Company; create s and post s new bulletin board postings and elevator postings on a weekly basis and prepare monthly wellness website status report. • Perform and develop full cycle recruitment services including creating job descriptions, developing job progression plan for non-field positions, placing job ads internally and externally, screening applicants, conducting interviews, participating in the selection process for non-management office positions, handling new employee orientation program for office employees and handling exit interviews. • Handles administrative activities of Bay University such as publishing class schedules, ensuring instructors complete lesson plans, maintaining reservation list, sending out calendar request to attendees, creating PowerPoint presentations if necessary, printing hand-outs, ensuring training facility is ready for each session, handling sign-in sheets, completing course completion certificates, updating attendance log of class attendees and distributing Bay University prizes. • Responsible for electronically signing Record of Termination forms received on all employees daily and updating employee information weekly for Bay Connection on active and terminated employees using Formtracking. • Create bi-monthly PowerPoint presentations and handouts for the Supervisor Safety Meetings and create monthly PowerPoint presentations for the Employee Monthly Meetings. • Participate in Beyond Zero initiatives by participating and handling administrative/coordination duties, such as the Company Softball League and various charity organizations. • Work with Bay Wellness Coordinator to produce wellness articles, safety meeting handouts and perform various wellness duties. • Attend various employee meetings to foster positive employee relations and develop open lines of communication and participates in community activities such as representing the Company at special luncheons and job fairs. • Represent the Company at local career fairs, colleges and trade schools, high schools and community events. • Stay current on federal and state law changes that affect HR and benefits and assist with legal compliance on all employment-related federal, state and local laws. • Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with three years of progressive Human Resources Generalist experience gained within a progressive business environment. PHR or SPHR certification is a plus. • Strong, demonstrated experience in the areas of recruiting, benefits, employee relations and communications, performance management, training and regulatory compliance. • Outstanding personal communication skills – verbal, presentation and written. Must clearly convey information to a culturally diverse audience in the form of letters, memos, posters and reports. • Strong problem solving skills with ability to determine facts, identify root causes and formulate effective action plan. • Strong demonstrated proficiency in HR systems and other standard office software such as Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. • Strong relationship-building skills. • Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities and to work both independently and as a team member, and interact with all levels of employees and management.
