  JOB TITLE: Network Administrator JOB SUMMARY: This position will be supporting local and remote employees and server infrastructure for an industrial construction company using a variety of hardware and software platforms. Requirements: Education, Certification, and Experience • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field and five-5-years of experience maintaining networks and servers; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. • A, Net, CCNA, CCNP, MCP, MCSE preferred. • Must possess thorough understanding of and ability to Install, configure, and use: o Microsoft Exchange o Microsoft Active Directory o All Microsoft Windows Operating Systems o VMware Servers o HP blade servers o Cisco networking devices o EMC VNX storage systems Responsibilities: • Provide user support for several hardware platforms with various software configurations • Creation-Deletion of user accounts and identities in various software platforms, including Microsofts Active Directory and Exchange • Develop, recommend, implement, maintain, and enforce all necessary policies, procedures, standards, and practices to ensure the security and integrity of the network and servers, including disaster recovery • Develop, recommend, implement, and maintain network backup and recovery procedures for servers and desktops • Measure and monitor production networks and servers, recommend and coordinate tuning activities to help sustain and improve performance and efficiency Skills and Abilities: • Must have hands on experience • Must possess advanced knowledge of PC software applications, operating systems, and hardware • Must possess a thorough understanding of TCP-IP networking, including SMTP, DNS, FTP, and HTTP • Must understand and communicate difficult concepts and provide instructions in a clear, straightforward manner • Must be able to train end-users with tact and patience • Must be able to document work for effective future maintenance • Must be able to work and communicate effectively in a team environment, yet be able to complete tasks individually • Must be able to establish and maintain protection of sensitive data and resources with appropriate safeguards in accordance with policy and legal requirements • Must facilitate creation of appropriate records required for service continuity and performance evaluation • Must demonstrate clear and effective technical writing skills for both internal IT documentation and end-user support
