  Quality Control Inspector/Technician

  JOB SCOPE The key purpose of this role is to conduct inspection and testing in accordance with quality documentation, code and other requirements, as well as assist the Division Quality Manager with other QAQC tasks and activities. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES • Has strong basic knowledge of inspection, testing and NDE in the oil and gas industry (refinery and/or fabrication); may include structural, piping, tanks, vessels, equipment. • May conduct NDE (non-destructive examination) and testing and report results. Testing methods may include, but are not limited to, VT, MT, PT, UT, RT. Other interpretations and/or activities may include PMI, hardness testing, Ferrite determination and weld radiography interpretation. • Inspection and testing activities to be carried out in compliance with procedure, code, standard and/or client specification. • May inspect finished product and authorize release. • Assist Divisional Quality Manager as needed/instructed. JOB SPECIFICATIONS - KEY COMPETENCIES • Significant technical knowledge and skills to understand and apply the relevant Codes and Standards (D1.1, B31.1, B31.3, API 1104, API 650, API 653, ASME Section VIII Div.1 &2, Section 1 & NBIC). • Can inspect API 650/653 projects. • Understands Hardness Testing, Positive Material Identification and Ferrite Inspection and fabrication assembly. • Makes good decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, experience and judgment. • A motivated individual who can work autonomously but strongly supports the Divisional Quality Manager and QAQC team. • Strong communicator who develops effective relationships with both internal and external customers. • Personally committed to and actively works to continuously improve knowledge for both personal and company benefit. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Current CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) TWIC card PREFERRED BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE OR QUALIFICATION API 650 or 653 Certified preferred PMI (Positive Material Identification) trained Level II RT with State Card is an advantage.
